Labrador born actor Shawn Doyle has amassed an impressive list of international film and television projects. After starring in the critically-acclaimed series The Eleventh Hour and television adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s The Robber Bride with Mary Louise Parker the multi-award winning actor moved to Los Angeles to play Joey in the Emmy-nominated hit series Big Love for HBO. Reoccurring roles on Desperate Housewives and 24, along with guest-starring roles on Lost, CSI and Lie To Me have made him a household name in the US.
Doyle returned to Canada to star as the brilliant and tortured Arkady Balagan in the suspense series Endgame. He also delivered an ACTRA award nominated portrayal of Sir John A. MacDonald in the CBC movie John A: The Revals.
Select film credits include Whiteout, Don’t Say a Word and Frequency. Doyle also co-produced and starred in Grown Up Movie Star which premiered to critical praise at Sundance in 2010 winning a World Cinema Special Jury Prize.
Since his award winning role on The Disappeared (two best performance awards) he went on to act in the feature films The Return and Hunting Season.
He played Patrick Byrne in the TV series Vegas, Dr. Isaac Felt on Lost Girl, guest starred on Hannibal, The Listener, Rookie Blue, The Republic of Doyle and Covert Affairs, and played Vern Thurman on Fargo. Most recently he appeared on Season Three of House of Cards as Dr. Alan Cooke and regular roles on the TV series, The Expanse and This Life.
